About Us

Community Learning Center (CLC) is an adult literacy nonprofit organization that serves low income adults in Philadelphia. Our learning sites are located in North Philadelphia and West Philadelphia. Founded by Jean Fleschute in 1987 with 67 students, the CLC became independent of its parent organization, Personal Resources Network (PRN), in June 1994 and established it’s non-profit 501(c)(3) status. Today, CLC provides its free classes and services to more than 700 adult learners each year.

CLC provides free high school equivalency, workforce development, and English as a Second Language classes to low-income adults seeking to change their lives through education and employment.  Our goal is to help our students learn the skills they need to gain employment, continue on to post-secondary programs, and enter job training programs.
